Who is Mrs. Marcela Wagoner?
Hello! My name is Marcela Wagoner and I’ve been here at Aspen since February 2007. I am the ELL aide for the school. In addition to English, I speak Spanish, which was actually my first language because my parents are from Argentina. They came here for a two-year visit but they liked the United States so much that they’re still here. I got to live in Buenos Aires for a year after high school. What an experience. I had a lot of relatives to stay with because I have 42 cousins.
Before coming to Aspen, I was a stay-at-home mom and before that, I worked in the publishing field at a magazine called Safety & Health. I graduated from California State University at Long Beach with a degree in Journalism---I’ve always loved to write. When I’m not here at Aspen, I spend my time at home with my husband Scott, my beautiful 10-year-old daughter Gabriela, and our cat Taco, who I couldn’t pick out of a line-up but has a very nice personality (see his picture at his website tacothecat.com). I love working with the children at Aspen and no two days are ever the same. I feel very lucky to be here!
Hola! Me llamo Marcela Wagoner y estoy en la escuela Aspen desde Febrero 2007. Soy la ayudante de ELL y, ademas de ingles, hablo castellano porque mis padres son de Argentina. Vinieron para dos años a USA pero se decidieron quedar. Yo tuve la suerte de vivir en Buenos Aires por un año. Que oportunidad!
Antes de venir a Aspen, era una “quedarse en casa mamá” . Anteriormente de eso, trabaje en el campo publicitario para una revista. Me gradue de la Universidad de California en Long Beach con titulo en Journalism---siempre me encanto escribir. Cuando no estoy aqui en Aspen, paso mi tiempo en casa con mi marido Scott, mi hija lindisima de diez años Gabriela, y con nuestro gato Taco, que aunque no es una belleza es muy carinoso (vean su foto en www.tacothecat.com). Me gusta trabajar con los ninos aca en Aspen y encuentro que nunca es un dia igual al anterior. Tengo mucha suerte poder trabajar aqui!
