11.19.08 Parent Letter
Hello Everyone,
I will not be completing weekly folders this week. I have been working hard on the new report cards and preparation for conferences next week. I will send a note or an e-mail on Wednesday letting you know if your child has late/missing work for the last week. For your information, if work is completed at home, but left there or not turned in on time, it is late. I do my best to keep them in at recess to complete their late work or turn it in so that we do not interrupt our instruction time.
Thank you for checking assignment notebooks and weekly folders, and reviewing work with your child. It is so important for us all to be supporting the children.
The students and I are so excited to have a Promethean board and other technology coming to our classroom! Installation began today, and is scheduled to be completed for our use after Thanksgiving break. I attended training today, and we will be able to do some amazing work with the board.
Thanks to all of you who attended Parent Visit. Be sure that you are welcome to arrange to visit our classroom when it is convenient for you. A special thank-you to my weekly volunteers in reading workshop. Your support for our students in reading fluency, comprehension and active listening is so valuable to our class! A special thanks to those who are braving our exploration of owl pellets tomorrow. I promise it will be rewarding, and not as gross as it sounds!
I look forward to conferences next week.
Thanks for all you do for "our" kids!
Terri Wignall
ps. Just a reminder, our conferences will be student-led. Please bring your child. I've attached a copy of the conference schedule. I assume if I have not heard from you, the times you have been assigned are fine with you.
