Welcome to Mrs. Vinci's 5th grade site!!!
Having been a Teaching/Learning Coach for the last three years, I had the awesome opportunity to accept the fifth grade position at Aspen. I teach with Mrs.Neville and Mrs. Schullian, and we all teach language arts to the fifth graders. Ms. Neville teaches all the math classes, Mrs. Schullian teaches the science classes, and I teach the social studies classes. We all work well together and collaborate projects and activities to challenge our students on their journey through fifth grade.

The Aspen website is an awesome news avenue to share class news with students and parents. The district encourages staff to update their blogs often. It is as easy as cutting and pasting a news paragraph from your desktop. If you need any assistance see our Aspen tech coordinator, Chris Dierbeck.
CLASSROOM CONNECTIONS
In the Kindergarten classes students are learning all about our five basic needs of Choice Theroy developed by William Glasser. These needs are love/belonging, power, freedom, fun, and survival. During each lesson, Mrs. Vinci reads a story related to one of the needs. She brainstorms with the students how to make good choices while meeting their basic needs. The kindergarteners really enjoy singing "The Basic Needs Song" together and adding the hand movements.
