Welcome back to school. I can't believe that our first week of school is officially over! We spent a lot of our week getting to know each other and learning our new schedules and routine. We made class rules, a time capsule of ourselves, learned the undercurve for cursive, and shared our dioramas. We also went on an ABC scavenger hunt today around Aspen school. I am also happy to say that as of today, everyone in our class can successfully open their lockers. They were all very nervous about lockers on Monday, but are pros as of today. Yeah! We will be starting Math, Reading, and Science next week. On Thursday we will be taking our Reading MAP test.
I hope to see everyone on Tuesday night for "Back to School Night!" HAVE A GREAT 3 DAY WEEKEND!
June 2008
Wow, I can't believe it is already June! We have had a lot happening in our classroom.
Last week flew by with a lot of exciting events.
On Tuesday we made our trip downtown, where we got to experience the "Windy City" in full force! It was cold and windy, but the students had a blast on the boat. We got to see many architectural landmarks. We even saw the Adler Planetarium (our first field trip ) from the boat. It was great to make that connection. Even though we were cold, we had fun together.
We made class t-shirts with our class picture, and we all signed the back. The students loved this activity, and couldn't wait to wear these shirts for Olympic Day.
Thursday was Olympic Day, and I was impressed with my class. The students had fun playing the games and worked together as a team. They sure demonstrated sportsmanship! We finished Olympic Day with a picnic on the front lawn, with our class together.
