Mrs. Motley's Classroom Notes

November News

November is a short but busy month for our students.
We have non-attendance days on November 4 and November 11
and conferences will be held on November 24 and 25 just
prior to the Thanksgiving break. Not all students/
parents will have conferences at this time.

Our unit of study for this month is "Night Time." While
we'll learn about nocturnal animals we will also read
about and discuss our night time routines---children
will receive a new book perfect for bedtime reading.

There is a definite nip in the air but we will continue
to use the playground at the end of day, weather permitting.
Please dress your child appropriately---and please label
all outdoor clothing. The students are doing a terrific
job of putting on their jackets by themselves. The next
step is learning how to zip! A tip to save time

Beautiful, Beautiful October

My favorite month of the year---I love the colorful changes it brings as well as
the little bit of nip in the air.

As you assist your child in getting dressed for the cooler weather, please
remember to send him/her in clothing that can be taken on and off easily.
While we do assist the students at their lockers, we strive for independence
in these skills. Also, please make sure that all of their outdoor clothing is
labeled with names.

Speaking of beautiful Fall weather, Mrs. Sanks couldn't have chosen a more
lovely day for our trip to the zoo! We hope you and your child enjoyed this
outing with our PreK families and we appreciate your efforts to participate
in this event. Take a few minutes to look at our pictures from Lincoln Park
Zoo on our website.

We will continue learning about the zoo and its animals in the weeks ahead,

Welcome to our Three-year olds' Classroom

We welcome all new students and families to our classroom! It is
especially nice to see familiar faces from previous years and at
the same time we look forward to becoming acquainted with the new
faces as well.

Please pay close attention to the calendars you receive. You will
note dates and times for various activities as well as days of
non-attendance for your child.

Areas of study for the beginning of the school year will be
"Ourselves" and "The Zoo." Many classroom activities will pertain
to these two themes. You will read about our various activiies
in the weekly edition of "PreK News" which you will find in your
child's backpack each Thursday.

When the need arises, please do not hesitate to communicate your
questions or concerns by either calling our secretary, Mrs. Rosinski,
